Problem authorizing gSyncit to access your account

When authorizing gSyncit to access your Google/Toodledo/Wunderlist account you may encounter one of the following or similar error messages shown below. The error indicates a problem completing the authorization workflow used to grant gSyncit to your online account to sync. The issue commonly is caused by a problem with the default system web browser selection or system firewall/network setting blocking the request.

 

 

 RESOLUTION:

  • Check that you have a default web browser selected on the Windows settings for "Default Programs". Your default web browser should be set to Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Firefox. We don't recommend using Internet Explorer as it is considered obsolete and unsecure by current security standards.

    If using Windows 10 open "settings" and search for "default browser". Then select "choose default browser" and select a modern browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox).

  • Check your host file to make sure it is correctly mapping to local host. This file is located in the file C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts and can be edited with the Windows Notepad application. You may need the uncomment the following references to localhost.

    127.0.0.1       localhost
    ::1             localhost
