Error "(401) Not Authorized" error when syncing with Google Contacts

SUMMARY

If you encounter an issue where the sync reports "(401) Not Authorized" while syncing with Google Contacts (or any other Google sync mapping) this typically indicates that the authorization token used by gSyncit to access Google contacts for a specific account is no longer valied.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this error please use the following steps ....

  1. Open the gSyncit settings
  2. Expand Google Sync
  3. Select Contact Sync
  4. Edit the Contact Sync that is not working
  5. Click Unauthorize
  6. Click Authorize
  7. Authorize gSyncit to access the exact Google account inidcated on the sync mapping
  8. Save all settings and sync again.
